Savory Snack Mix
Makes 12 cups
5 c. Rice Chex
5 c. Corn Chex
1 c. black pepper rice crackers, broken into large pieces
1/3 c. smoked almonds
1/3 c. black pepper cashews
1/3 c. unsalted peanuts
4 – 6 T. Earth Balance margarine, melted
2 T. gluten free Worcestshire sauce
1 1/2 t. seasoning salt
1 t. garlic powder
1/2 t. onion powder
1/8 – 1/4 t. cayenne pepper
1. Preheat oven to 250F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, mix together cereals, crackers, and nuts. In a small bowl, combine margarine, Worcestshire sauce, and spices. Pour over crackers, and stir until cereal is evenly coated.
3. Spread cereal mixture in an even layer over parchment paper. Bake for 60 to 80 minutes, stirring and re-distributing mixture in a layer every 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on parchment paper or paper towels.
Store in an airtight bag or container.
